Scientific name Pleurotus Citrinopileatus.
Gold kits might grow Primordia in some places. If you can see the tissue accumulation on the sides, that is Primordia. You can tear up the plastic membrane at the Primordia area and keep it wet, the fruiting bodies will grow continuously.
Gold Oysters have bright yellow and fragile caps. They grow in clusters that look like a flower bouquet. They grow well in the summer months as they prefer warm temperatures. They are slow growers. They are delicious raw and when sautéed they taste like cashew nuts.
Yellow is middle spring to middle autumn.
They start colonising around September and grow well until April.
