Also known as Swiss Brown Mushrooms.
Scientific name Agaricus Bisporus.
They start colonising from March and grow well into November. They prefer colder temperatures.
They can be grown outside. The mushrooms must just be protected from rain and can grow well under a covered patio outside. They need to be kept very wet. It is just as delicious raw or cooked.
They taste like a mild Shiitake with a distinct “nutty” taste and have a similar texture to that of asparagus.
Special instructions:
Must be kept very wet andindoors or outdoors. Be careful not to allow the small pins to dry out. If kept outdoors, do not let it get soaked by rain. Under a covered patio works well. If the temperature drops below 150C at night, move the log inside.
